The first job I ever had: Teller at Barnett Bank

What led me to choose a career in the dental field? After a rewarding 30-year career in banking and financial management, I retired and entered a new chapter in my life. Once my grandchildren entered high school, they no longer needed to be chauffeured around. I began to feel a sense of boredom and longing for a new challenge. With my daughter-in-law working in the dental field, I became intrigued by the world of dentistry and saw an opportunity to blend my skills in finance management, and customer service. I decided to pursue a role as a treatment coordinator in dentistry, where I could leverage my extensive background in corporate finance to assist patients treatment planning and financial coordination. This role allows me to blend my passion for customer service with my deep understanding of financial structures, all while supporting both the dental team and patients. I find fulfillment in helping others and contributing to a positive, organized experience in the dental office, making this second career a rewarding and natural fit.

Hobbies & Interests: Spending time with my family/grandkids, Living life to the fullest, workout-bootcamp, orange theory.

What is something people don’t know about you? I lived in Europe and competed in my first beauty pageant at 50.

What led me to choose a career in the dental field? I’ve always had an affinity for a person’s smile. Keeping my patients smiling brings me joy.

Hobbies & Interests: I have been a nail technician for 13 years and creating art makes me happy. Creating memories with my family, reading, traveling and playing video games are a few of my interests.

What is something people don’t know about you? I was a violinist who played for the North Carolina State Junior Orchestra.

The first job I ever had: Colombian Airlines

What led me to choose a career in the dental field? My dentist and dental assistant were my biggest inspirations. I admired their kindness, passion, and attention to detail, and I aspired to be just like them. One day during an appointment, my dental assistant encouraged me to consider the field and invited me to shadow her. That experience solidified my passion for dentistry. Shortly after, I enrolled in dental assisting school where I graduated at the top of my class and earned a place on the Dean’s List.

What is something people don’t know about you? I have traveled to over 15 countries in the world.

Although I initially knew little about the field, I found it incredibly interesting and rewarding to learn about.
