What is PRF?

PRF stands for platelet-rich fibrin, a platelet concentrate that contains a high concentration of stem cells, platelets, leukocytes, immune cytokines and growth factors without the red blood cells. We obtain PRF by collecting a small amount of blood and spinning it at a low velocity in a medical centrifuge. This process separates the blood’s healing elements from the red blood cells which are then reinserted in the surgical wound where you need them most. Unlike PRP which contains chemicals like anticoagulants, PRF has nothing added, just YOUR blood!
