Dental Checkup

PRF

Tooth extractions may sound scary, but they are a necessary and effective treatment option for a wide range of dental health concerns. Extracting an infected tooth will prevent further damage to your oral health, minimize the overall bacterial load and eliminate the pathologic bacteria, allowing for good microflora to exist.

When utilized correctly, modern instrumentation and technologies allow for tooth extractions to be painless procedures. The healing process sometimes comes with soreness, tenderness, or discomfort. At Dental Healing Arts in Jupiter, we use PRF technology to compliment the extraction procedure and expedite the healing process so you can make a speedy recovery and return to your daily routine.

What is PRF?

PRF is the most natural substance used after an extraction to aid in the healing process. PRF stands for Platelet Rich Fibrin, a catch-all term for the fibrin, white blood cells, growth factors and stem cells obtained from spinning your blood in a centrifuge. This process causes the bulk of the most potent cells in blood to be highly concentrated so they can then be placed back into the injured site (extraction site) to take advantage of their healing and stimulating properties.

How Do Tooth Extractions Benefit from PRF?

PRF has been shown to have several powerful regenerative properties. This substance derived from your own blood will speed up healing, close over the extraction site to minimize the discomfort, almost eliminate me possibility of a dry socket and help create bone ready for a dental implant.

Benefits of Tooth Extractions with PRF

  • Spend less time recovering
  • Reduce pain and discomfort
  • Lower risk of developing dry socket
  • Prepare bone for a dental implant
